NCLS: Profiling Your Community
NCLS Research can help your church or organisation connect more effectively with people in your community.
Community Social Profiles
Who are the people in your neighbourhood? Community Social Profiles, based on national census information can help your church think about possible bridges you can build.
The NCLS Community Social Profile (CSP) is a 32 page colour report that contains census information about a defined local community. Using maps, pictures and tables, it shows the social make-up of your community, how it is distinctive and how it has changed.
NCLS Community Connections Pack: designed for churches
From mid 2008 NCLS Research sent a specially tailored Community Connections Pack to churches and parishes (Protestant and Anglican) . The Pack is designed to help your church in its mission and ministry to the local area.
The Community Connections Pack contains three items: Your own Community Social Profile, a Guide and a Workbook.
- Your own Community Social Profile (CSP). A church's CSP contains census information about the local community that surrounds the church location. Using maps, pictures and tables, the NCLS Community Social Profile (CSP) shows the social make-up of your community, how it is distinctive and how it has changed (within a 2km radius for urban churches and a 5 km radius for rural churches or within parish boundaries).
- Community Social Profile Guide. A companion to the CSP that provides further information to help you get the most out of your Profile.
- Community Connections Workbook for churches. Includes worksheets, a workshop and community surveying tools.
As in previous years, this pack was sent on a sale or return basis (postage paid). When the pack arrives, churches can either choose to purchase it and keep it, or return it in the mail (postage paid). Prices for the 2008 Community Connections Pack offer for churches are $165 (inc GST) capped at $220 for churches with multiple locations.
