NCLS Research, a world leader in exploring Australian spirituality, church health, and the dynamic between churches and their communities, is inviting expressions of interest for board membership. With over 35 years of credible and thoughtful research, including the renowned five-yearly National Church Life Survey engaging millions of participants, our mission is to foster thriving Christian communities that understand their role and mission within a changing society.

Role of the Board Member:

As a board member, you will:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure NCLS Research fulfils its mission and vision.
  • Governance: Ensure robust governance practices, financial sustainability, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Advocacy: Act as an ambassador for NCLS Research, promoting our work and fostering relationships with key stakeholders, including churches, community organizations, and research institutions.
  • Insightful Contribution: Leverage your expertise to contribute to discussions on research initiatives, community engagement, and the evolving landscape of spirituality and church life in Australia.

We seek individuals who are:

  • Passionate about our Mission: A deep commitment to the vision of thriving Christian communities and the role of research in achieving this goal.
  • Experienced Leaders: Proven experience in governance, strategic planning, or leadership within non-profit, research, or faith-based sectors.
  • Collaborative Thinkers: Ability to work effectively within a diverse team, valuing different perspectives and fostering a culture of collaboration.
  • Innovative and Forward-Thinking: Keen insight into the challenges and opportunities facing churches and communities today, with a proactive approach to addressing them.

Commitment:

Board members are expected to attend regular meetings (frequency to be determined) and participate in sub-committees as needed. This is a voluntary position; however, reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling board duties will be reimbursed.
